About The Author
“A writer is someone for whom writing is more difficult than it is for other people.”
― Thomas Mann, Essays of Three Decades
Sheila Duggan Kettlewell, a self-proclaimed procrastinator and over-analyzer, made the decision to walk the Camino in about five minutes. She then spent the next few weeks trying to talk herself out of the adventure that was only two months away. While conjuring up every reason not to go, Sheila was simultaneously renewing her passport, buying tour guides, studying Spanish on-line, and researching packing lists. When her heart finally outweighed her head and Dad shared that “it’s not the things that you do that you regret, it’s the ones you don’t,” Sheila bought a ticket to Lisbon. She looks forward to chronicling her experience in words and pictures. She knows she will be inspired by nature and physically tired. Beyond that, Sheila is open to whatever comes along The Way.

Sheila lives outside of Boston with her husband and two teenage boys, a freshman in college and a freshman in high school. They own a fish named Clarke and they still ask for a dog.
Sheila enjoys reading, writing, hot baths, sitting by the fire, watching movies, sunsets on the beach….walking 60 miles on the Camino is a big deal!
