Until we meet again…

‘Travel doesn’t become adventure until you leave yourself behind.”
Marty Rubin
I am waiting in the small airport of Santiago de Compostela to catch my flight to Boston via Frankfurt, Germany. Two steps forward, one step back. In any case, I’ve been advised to get a pretzel while I am in the airport, and I’ll enjoy a short layover to hear another language.
As you know, my plan was to reflect and write daily. Dave shared that one of his friends who wrote a blog chronicled his experiences after the adventure. I said I would consider this, and as it happened, I was either too busy or too tired to write while I was there. I didn’t even journal except for the very last day. I’m a little sad about this because I wasn’t able to capture my daily experiences and reflections, although I did take many pictures. I am counting on them to help me retrace my Way.

I am home now. Like most trips, it feels like it was years ago. My body is in a different time zone- I’ve been up since about 2 am. For the first time since starting this blog, I am having difficulty writing. My plan (ha) was to revisit my (non-existent) journal pages and give a synopsis of each day, letting you follow along with me. What I have come to realize is that the adventure of the Way is much bigger than a day by day recap. It will take me some time to process my experience. Once again, I am not sure (this is becoming standard) how the pages will unfold. I would like to write daily. I guess we’ll all just have to see what that looks like.
I’m looking forward to catching up with everyone!

Take a few days to de-compress. All the memories will come back to to you. (One man’s opinion-unsolicited)
I believe it is a valid opinion. And as much as a daily journal would be a nice rememberance, I think the big picture will yield more. Right now, I am just counting on sleep!
